Oct 15, 2019· This last gypsum could have precipitated from the excess of calcium and sulfate, resulting not only from anhydrite dissolution, but isovolumetric anhydrite replacement by gypsum. Both sets of microcrystalline gypsum have a wider range of δ 18 O values (between +‰ and +‰, and between +‰ and ‰; Fig. 3A).
